Nebraska Supreme Court

According to an article today in the Lincoln Journal Star, the Nebraska Supreme Court will not hear the case on "whether municipalities can enact immigration restrictions." According to the court statement, the case did not "allege a violation of state law." A Nebraska Federal court had kicked it up to the state Supreme Court after a lawsuit was filed against the town of Freemont, which had passed an ordinance against illegal immigrants working or renting there. This is going to be a complicated issue for the Midwest, as more towns pass laws like Freemont's. You can read the article here.
